April 4, 2017José Manuel Holgado Merino, the Guardia Civil’s General Director, chaired the inauguration of the monument dedicated to the BO-105 helicopter, which was held this morning at ITP’s facilities in Ajalvir (Madrid). This monument commemorates the long-standing and cooperative relationship that both institutions have maintained over the past decade. During the ceremony, Ignacio Mataix, ITP CEO, thanked the Guardia Civil for handing this aircraft over to create the monument.
The BO-105 is a lightweight utility helicopter that has been part of the Guardia Civil’s Air Service fleet since the Helicopter Service was founded in 1973. The Air Service currently has around 20 of these helicopters, which are used during rescue missions in mountains and at seas. They are also used for transport and for patrolling Spanish airspace.
ITP has provided support for Rolls-Royce M250 engines, which power the Guardia Civil’s Bo-1045 helicopters, and other engines that power the Guardia Civil’s Air Service helicopters and aircraft, ever since it was founded, with more than 200 engines repaired to date.
