Following the recent change of shareholding, ITP Aero reinforces its leadership team in order to further accelerate its growth trajectory and the expansion of its industrial and technological capabilities and thus have a stronger position as a global leader in in the Aerospace and Defence industry.
Under the new ownership ITP Aero, will be governed by a new Board of Directors, chaired by Juan María Nin. Juan Maria Nin is a lawyer-economist from the University of Deusto and Master in Laws and Political Sciences from the London School of Economics. Juan María has first-hand knowledge of the world of business management, finance, energy and international economic policy. Former Vice-Chairman and CEO of La Caixa, CEO of Banco Sabadell and Managing Director of Banco Santander. ITP Aero Board members include: Ivano Sessa, Tobias Weidner, Davide Vidotto, Enrique Hernandez Viton and Javier Ortigosa Salvador, from Bain Capital; Miguel Francisco Azorín Aguirre from JB Capital Markets and Carlos Alzola, CEO ITP Aero. Carlos Alzola has been CEO of ITP Aero since 2019 and has led the company during the challenges registered by the industry’s Covid-crisis and the company’s sale process. The Spanish government will have a direct presence on the Board of Directors of ITP Aero, through a representative of the Ministry of Defence.
In addition, Javier Lazaro, will join ITP Aero as new CFO starting 3rd October, working from the company’s headquarters in Zamudio. Javier Lázaro will join the Executive Team working closely with Carlos Alzola in order to ensure the completion of the company’s Strategic and growth plans.
Javier Lazaro brings extensive experience in the financial and corporate world, having most recently worked since 2015 as Corporate General Manager and CFO at Indra, a Spanish listed defense and technology company. Before joining Indra, Javier was CFO of Spain-based, media conglomerate Prisa. Prior to moving into the corporate world, Javier spent almost 15 years as an Investment Banker in Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse, having held different responsibilities in several areas. Javier started his professional career in McKinsey. Javier holds a MSc in telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and has an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
Carmen Otero, former CFO, will continue to hold a key position within the finance department working closely with Javier Lazaro.
