New ITP Aero plant in Biscay

January 9, 2019ITP Aero joins the XVIII edition of the Madrid Science Week
One of the activities developed by ITP Aero has been the Aeronautical Workshop, organized in conjunction with the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Higher Technical School of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). A practical workshop, aimed at primary and secondary school students, which allows them to discover how the aeronautical industry works thanks to industry professionals. This activity is a clear example of the existing collaboration between the two entities, materialized in the ETSIAE ITP Aero Chair for Turbomachinery Studies.
In addition, the company has organized a visit to its Ajalvir plant, where students from the Aeronautical Maintenance Training Cycle have had the chance to live the day-to-day life of a plant specialized in engineering, assembly, engine testing and which supports and maintains a wide range of engines and aeronautical components.
For Alfredo López, director of advanced engineering at ITP Aero and associate professor at the UPM: “Science Week is a very interesting meeting point for companies and professionals of the aeronautical sector, bringing them closer to society and especially to young people. The awakening of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) vocations is a priority for ITP Aero, which is committed to innovation and the development of the technology that will drive the future”.
