ITP Aero joins Ellas Vuelan Alto to showcase female talent in the aeronautics industry
Gema Martín del Burgo, President of Ellas Vuelan Alto and Susana Herrero, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations at ITP Aero, today signed an agreement at the European Rotors International Trade Fair, which is being held in Madrid, to make ITP Aero a silver benefactor of Ellas Vuelan Alto. This collaboration agreement aims to promote gender equality in the sector, as well as the promotion of STEM vocations among the new generations.
As part of the agreement, ITP Aero is committed to leading the Northern Spain delegation of this association that works to raise the profile of female talent in the aeronautical industry. ITP Aero’s membership as a silver benefactor highlights ITP Aero’s commitment to strengthening ties and fostering relationships and connections between companies, institutions, universities and other organisations in the sector in order to highlight the role of female talent, overcome stereotypes and showcase female role models to new generations.
Susana Herrero, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations at ITP Aero commented: “We are delighted to join Ellas Vuelan Alto and lead the project in the north of Spain from 2024. We believe it is essential to continue promoting female talent in the aeronautical industry. We are living a transforming and exciting moment in the aeronautical sector in which we have to benefit from all the present and future talent available. Now, only 20% of women opt for engineering studies in Spain and, therefore, it is important to create role models so that more and more girls follow the steps of leading women in the sector and to transmit that it is a sector that offers great opportunities”.

The association was born in September 2018 with the aim of consolidating the visibility of women in the aeronautical and aerospace sector in Spain, covering the political, university, business and Administration spheres, taking as a basis the vision of equality of the United Nations Magna Carta.
