July 19, 2018ITP Aero hosts Clean Sky 2 in Madrid
54 representatives from leading companies across the aeronautical sector and their partners will show the programme’s executive team and independent evaluators the progress achieved during the year, who will assess the results and propose improvements for next year.
ITP Aero, as a core partner of Clean Sky 2, will present the outcomes of the aerodynamic tests carried out on the intermediate pressure turbine of the Rolls-Royce UltraFan® engine, which have been performed in collaboration with the Aeronautical Technology Centre (CTA) located in Biscay (Spain). The UltraFan® is a scalable jet engine design suitable for widebody or narrowbody aircraft and offers a 25% fuel efficiency improvement over the first-generation of Rolls-Royce Trent engine. It will be available from 2025.
In addition, attendees will also visit the Institute for Advanced Studies in Materials (IMDEA Materials) of Madrid.
