ITP Aero delivers a EJ200 engine of the Halcón project to the Spanish Air and Space Force

ITP Aero has delivered today a EJ200 Halcón engine to the Spanish Air and Space Force at an event held at its facilities in Ajalvir (Madrid, Spain). The event was chaired by the Secretary of State for Defense, María Amparo Valcarce García; the Chief of Staff of the Air and Space Force (JEMA), Francisco Braco Carbó; and the Managing Director of ITP Aero, Carlos Alzola.

This marks one of the first milestones of the contract signed in June 2022 by EUROJET Turbo GmbH, the consortium responsible for the EJ200 engine that powers the Eurofighter Typhoon, and the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA), to supply 50 new EJ200 engines to the Spanish Ministry of Defense and Space as part of the Halcón project.

Carlos Alzola, Managing Director of ITP Aero, commented: “This delivery once again demonstrates the success story of the EJ200 engine and the EUROJET consortium, which has delivered over 1,400 engines to various nations. Recent orders from launch nations such as Spain and Germany strengthen the programme and help us look optimistically at the international export market. The EJ200 is undoubtedly a programme that reinforces our national and European sovereignty while providing highly skilled long-term jobs in Spain.”
