In its commitment to digitalisation and sustainability, ITP Aero presents Aerolens® technology and its developments in additive manufacturing at FEINDEF

ITP Aero is present at the International Defence and Security Exhibition FEINDEF, where it is showcasing its latest technological capabilities on a stand, which has been produced with 100% recyclable materials and zero net emissions. This is a first step in its commitment to becoming ‘net zero carbon’ in its operations by 2030. This goal is part of the UN’s ‘Race to Zero’ programme, in which ITP Aero is the first Spanish aeronautical company to join.   

The company exhibits its mixed reality technology AeroLens®, a software that combines real image with virtual reality to improve aircraft engine maintenance. AeroLens® is a digital transformation tool applied to different tasks and processes, from initial engine reception, inspection, and repairs, to a training module for team training. 

With Aerolens® ITP Aero optimises engine maintenance and minimises the impact on fleet downtime by reducing the time the engine is off-wing. At present, ITP Aero applies this technology to the engine reception of the TP400 engines that power the A400M transport aircraft, and the family of T700 and CT7 engine series, that power the NH Industries NH90 helicopters of the Spanish Armed Forces (CT7-8F5) and the Sikorsky S-92 helicopters (CT7-8) among others.

In addition, ITP Aero will manufacture in real time TP400 engine vanes for the A400M transport aircraft in collaboration with Renishaw, highlighting the company’s design capabilities in the field of 3D manufacturing.

Aircraft engines will also play a prominent role at the company’s stand with the exhibition of the EJ200, which powers the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft and serves as a tribute to Spain’s success story in the development of military engines. From the EJ200 to the new FCAS engine, ITP Aero has been a trusted partner in the development of disruptive technology that responds to European defence needs.

In addition, the company displays a GE T700 engine, one of the engines maintained by ITP Aero. The T700 powers the Black Hawk and Apache helicopter.
