ITP Aero has earned a ‘Gold medal’ from EcoVadis, a leading provider of Business Sustainability Ratings, which places it within the top 5% companies assessed in 2023. EcoVadis is the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating and has become the standard tool for aerospace sector companies, as recommended by IAEG (International Aerospace Environment Group).
ITP Aero began its sustainability assessment with EcoVadis in 2022 with the aim of achieving an external validation of ITP Aero’s ESG strengths and areas of improvement. EcoVadis is a recognized sustainability rating which covers all industries in four keys pillars: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Sustainable Procurement and Ethics & Information Security. TP Aero has scored an overall of 71 out of 100, including 80 out of a 100 in both Environment and Ethics & Information Security pillars.
This milestone comes at a time of growth for ITP Aero, as an independent company, since Bain Capital took ownership of ITP Aero in September 2022. Moreover, this gold medal sustainability rating is in line with ITP Aero’s strategic aim of becoming a world-class ESG company, and ITP Aero’s commitment with becoming net zero in carbon emissions by 2050, in accordance with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Belén González, Head of ESG at ITP Aero:“It’s a great honour for us to be within the top 5% of companies rated by EcoVadis. This rating reflects our robust sustainability management systems and processes that ITP Aero has been developing and upgrading over the last years. We are taking firm steps towards our net zero emissions commitment by 2050 and this milestone proves that ITP Aero is spearheading the challenge of decarbonising aviation.”
